Anguilla’s power company ANGLEC delivered on its slogan of “Lights before Christmas” as electrical power was restored across Anguilla last week, just in time for the holiday season, and three months after the lights went out from Hurricane Irma in September.

Close to 600 guestrooms are available, comprised of a selection of villas, small hotels and holiday apartment rentals. Among the properties open for the winter season are the CeBlue Resort in Crocus Hill; Larimar Beach Club, Frangipani Beach Resort and Meads Bay Villas on Meads Bay; Serenity Cottages and Fountain Residences on Shoal Bay; and Paradise Cove Resort in The Cove.



Robot bartenders and thrill slides are so last year. Soon, passengers on cruise ships will be zooming electric cars around the largest racetrack at sea, playing outdoor laser tag at night, and spotting marine life with diving drones.

And by soon, we don’t mean 2050. We mean 2018.

As cruise lines look to be fresh and relevant, the focus is on amazing experiences—specifically, the kind you want to post on social media.

Uber has suspended operations in Cancun.

The announcement comes after a year of issues with Mexican officials and taxi companies.

According to, Uber’s communications director for Mexico, Carlos Olivo, revealed operations were suspended at 9 a.m. local time Wednesday as part of a collaboration with the Congress of Quintana Roo.

The U.S. embassy in Turkey has announced it’s resuming normal visa services for Turkish citizens, saying Turkish authorities had adhered to assurances that no local staff would be detained or arrested for performing their duties.

The United States had halted most visa services for Turkish citizens following the arrest in October of a Turkish employee at the U.S. consulate in Istanbul, deepening already strained ties between Ankara and Washington. Turkey retaliated by halting visa services for Americans in the United States.

The embassy began processing visas on a “limited” basis in November following reassurances from Turkey.
