Frontier Airlines could soon be touching down in more destinations in Mexico and Central America.

The Denver-based, ultra-low-fare airline announced Tuesday it has signed a code-sharing deal with Mexican sister carrier Volaris Airlines. The arrangement, whereby the two carries will co-book and share flights in certain areas, will require regulatory approval in Mexico and the United States. If the deal clears those hurdles, Frontier fliers could be riding Volaris jets into destinations such as Mexico City; San Jose, Costa Rica; and San Salvador, El Salvador.

A coalition of trade organizations has joined forces to try and reverse the decline in international visitation to the U.S., where global travel share fell from 13.9% to 11.9% from 2015-2017, even as global travel volume increased 7.9%.

The Visit U.S. Coalition aims to partner with the Trump administration to tackle the dip, calling it a “hindrance to the president’s economic goals.” The coalition’s founding members include the U.S. Trip Association, American Hotel & Lodging Association, National Restaurant Association and U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The boutique hotel chain, owned by InterContinental Hotels Group, one of the largest hotel companies in the world, has discontinued a program in which it offered goldfish to guests as companions.

It was a popular perk for the hotel chain, but PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, thought not.
