California Pacific Airlines has announced it will begin operating flights from November 1, 2018. The new airline will begin by servicing just three destinations from its hub at McClellan-Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, California (CLD): daily flights to San Jose (SJC), four flights weekly to Reno-Lake Tahoe (RNO) and three flights weekly to Las Vegas (LAS). Assuming it prospers on those inaugural routes, the airline will expand its offering to additional western destinations, most likely beginning with Phoenix and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The Local Spain
Just six months after Spain smashed its tourism record the government is concerned by a surprising drop in numbers of visitors in the first 6 months of 2018.
82 million holidaymakers visited the country in 2017, 42 million of whom were from Britain, Germany and France.
But the apparent slowdown of these three European markets in the first six months of 2018 is leading the Spanish government to fear a slowdown, stagnation and even decline in tourism numbers for the third quarter, the most important one of the year.

On August 27, Orlando Weekly reported that the Basel, Switzerland-headquartered Viking Cruises adjusted their river cruise policy to mirror that of their Viking Ocean Cruises line, which has had an adults-only policy since debuting in 2015. The cruise line’s new, streamlined age policy is now “one of the strictest in the industry,” according to the outlet.
