Marriott International expects to end 2018 with 11 new properties and more than 2,600 guestrooms added to its United Arab Emirates portfolio.
Year-to-date, the company has added six new properties and is scheduled to add five more in the country, bringing its portfolio in the UAE to 59 properties and more than 17,000 rooms across six Emirates by the end of the year. Two of the company’s openings this year are regional brand debuts: the eco-conscious Element Hotels brand, which opened in Dubai, and the Edition brand, which is scheduled to open in Abu Dhabi later this year.
Windstar Cruises has announced a pilot program with the online recommendation engine, Utrip. The data-driven software helps guests plan shore excursions based on seven areas of passenger interest. Namely: arts and culture, outdoors, adventure, shopping, history, relaxation, and food and wine.
Utrip also provides suggestions for local restaurants, parks, museums, attractions and more.

The wellness product line, the company’s first new launch in three years, offers more than 80 departures to 10 destinations across the Americas, Europe and Asia. The first will depart on June 8, 2019, which is Global Wellness Day.
The itineraries are organized around three primary pillars: mindfulness, movement and nourishment.
International tourism arrivals worldwide have grown faster than some destinations can keep up with during the last decade, which probably isn’t news to many in the travel industry.
