Eiffel Tower closed down after intruder tries to climb up
The Eiffel Tower closed down on Monday after a man began trying to scale the Paris monument.
A person could be seen dangling just below the third and highest level of the structure. A rescuer dressed in red was just above him.
Police said the climber was a male.
It wasn’t immediately clear how the trespasser managed to get past the stringent security system.

Luxury cruise operator Regent Seven Seas Cruises has introduced innovative plant-based cuisine on menus across its fleet. The cruise line’s new gastronomic selections include more than 200 gourmet plant-based selections.
Regent’s new cuisine options will be available at breakfast, lunch and dinner and are designed to satisfy “the evolving tastes of luxury travelers who are following vegan or vegetarian lifestyles, or hunger to enjoy more plant-based fare,” said company officials, who also add more than nine of 10 plant-based meals are consumed by people who are not vegans.
US airlines are set to carry a record number of passengers this summer

U.S. airlines will fly a record 257.4 million passengers between June 1 and the end of August, a 3.4% increase from the previous year, Airlines for America forecast Tuesday.
The increase would mark the 10th consecutive rise in late-spring and peak summer air travel, the result of a strong economy and job market, the trade group said.Add to Flipboard Magazine.
